UniPort VC Urges Students to Acquire Skills for Career Success as PIND, Develop U and TAGDev 2.0 Program Hold Job Readiness Orientation

The University of Port Harcourt is taking bold steps to make its graduates employable and globally competitive.
The orientation brought together the final year students of the University of Port Harcourt, including the undergraduate and Post-Graduate students under the TAGDev 2.0 Scholarship scheme.

This was the focus at the job readiness orientation program held yesterday at the CBN Centre of Excellence, UniPort, organised by the PIND Foundation in collaboration with Develop-U and the TAGDev 2.0 Program of the University of Port Harcourt, with support from RUFORUM and in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation.

Declaring the event open, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Chike Princewill, represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration and Advancement), applauded the organisers for the timely initiative. He charged students to go beyond certificates and acquire practical skills that will distinguish them in the world of work.

In his welcome address, the Coordinator of TAGDev 2.0 Program, Prof. Ibisime Etela, noted that the orientation was tailored to equip final-year students with the right mindset, skills and career tools for a successful transition from campus to career


The event marks another milestone in TAGDev 2.0’s commitment to grooming job creators and market-ready graduates.
