The event kicked off with a warm welcome address by Prof. Owunari Georgewell, Vice Chancellor of the University of Port Harcourt, who congratulated the students on being part of this prestigious programme and encouraged them to make the most of the opportunity.
Prof. Ibisime Etela, TAGDev 2.0 Programme Coordinator, also welcomed the students and urged them to leverage the programme to achieve academic excellence and personal growth.
The orientation covered essential topics, including:
– Personal Mastery: Self-awareness, identity, goal setting, and time management,
– Academic Structure: Understanding lecture schedules, examination processes, and course quotas,
– Assessment and Grading: Understanding Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) and Grade Point Average (GPA) calculations.
The interactive sessions, questions and answers allowed the students to clarify doubts and gain valuable insights on their studies in the University of Port Harcourt. The orientation programme ended on a high note, with the scholars expressing gratitude and enthusiasm for their academic journey at the University of Port Harcourt.
